independent reading book - Raising In The Sun

         Wilbert is the main character in my independent book Rising In The Sun. He has changed a whole lot since the protagonist came along. The protagonist is definitely his mother 10,000 dollar settlement for his fathers wrongful death. As soon as the check came in the mail Wilbert's whole mood his mind thought everything has changed. Wilbert wants to use that money to buy a liquor store instead of buying his family a home. Wilbert and his family live in the slums of a 2 bedroom apartment and share a bathroom with everyone Ianthe building. I think Wilbert cant take that money and change his family life with it instead of being selfish and using the money to his expense. Everybody in that house hold has put their dreams aside to try to make everyone comfortable except Wilbert. for example Ruth, Ruth is Wilbert's wife she put her dreams aside of being a cook to make sure her son can grow up a lot more comforting instead of the way she did. i think Wilbert doesn't understand how risky it is to be that selfish and buying a liquor store with a guy he doesn't even know that well. Wilbert definitely has alot of growing up to do.
