The Help Follow UP #3

This is my "The Help'' follow up number three. So im just geting into the book and there is another situation that stands out to me. This situation is that the maid has a closer bond with the children then the the mothers do. The maids spends all day with the children and the mothers dont, the maids always have the children glued on there hip and her mothers dont. I think this is a common thing with nannnies and maids even today, Ive witnessed children crying when nannies/ maids go home. I think the bond shouldnt be closer then there bond with their parents.

follow up on the Help

On my last post I promised a follow up on '' The Help'' by Kathyrn Sockett and here it is. while reading the book i came across an outstandingly ignorant commit that was made by one of the white mothers in the book that stood out to me. So we know the book takes place in the early 60's were segragation was still a huge factor and black maids were still working and raising children in white households. So in the south it is common for friends to come along and eat finger foods etc, Like a party.
So at one of these party's one of the mothers said " I dont let my maid use my family restroom they carry many more diseases then we do so im getting one built outside." This comment is very ignorant and full of stupidity. When i read this sentence i had to read it over to make sure it said what i thought it said. This comment of course isnt true,  but it makes the theme of inequality stand out 100 times more. this comment makes the feel of the boook alot better more realistic how it was like for maids in this time period.
Another thing that stood out to me that aibleen ( main maid) has taken almost 20 years of her life to take care of the house and raise other peoples children, while her children are out barely seeing her own children who she is surpossed be taking care of instead of others. So far this book is very good and is a eye popper. stay tuned for my next follow up about ''The Help''

The Help

I just started reading the book The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I'm only on the first page and i haven't seen the movie and I'm going to infer that the book is about maids in the south taking over their lives and participating in a book about being nannies of white children. I definitely know that these black maids are taking a huge risk and exposing the truth about the parents of the children.

ive just read Brittany David's http://silentlibrary98.blogspot.com/ blog post on the Twilight Saga book Breaking dawn. i agree with you when you say when young people get married people automatically assume someone is pregnant and no one could never just be IN LOVE.
Ive just read Jessenia Weeks http://lovinglife-jessenia.blogspot.com/  about the book she is reading the skin im in and in response i feel the reason the main character isn't responding to any of the bullying because she scared it is going to get physical we she says hurtful things back it like throwing gas on a open fire. Many times when children are bullied and they respond the problem gets worse so that is why the main character probably doesn't want to retaliate on the situation
Ive just read Deontea's http://ballupstreetball101.blogspot.com/about Diary of a wimpy kid and i relate to what he was talking about 100% in the book as i was ready this book i found myself reading it ad feeling the same way deontea felt.
I Just finished reading Kara Feaster http://sufferinfromrealness.blogspot.com/ blog post about the book Zig Zag her post makes me want to read this book because the conflict is that the main character has a eating disorder and throws up everything they weat and it makes me want to read the book and know the the character is doing this to there body. Also how the settings or theme of the book makes the character this way.
